Linda Solan - Photographer

Linda Solan resides in Upstate New York. Her experience spans the last 30 years. Linda’s photography includes b/w portraits, hand coloring of b/w photographs, sepia and tonal qualities... and digital color prints consisting of landscapes, architecture, old barns and farms. She has spent the past years discovering Central New York’s beauty; photographing previously undocumented local treasures while trying to preserve the richness of local historical buildings.

"My photographs are all personal souvenirs of moments in time as seen with an eye for light, shape and color. The camera eye is the window to the world... past and present.

I can hardly pass by an old barn or building without taking a photograph; I wonder how I ever get to my destination. The structures are all unique wooden and stone pieces of architecture. They are scattered throughout our picturesque state reminding us of our historical agricultural heritage... and should be documented as part of our New York history. The weather and time of day is also instrumental in my photography... I love to photograph in the rain or snow with stormy skies... and at dawn and dusk viewing the sculpture of the clouds against the landscape."
