Experience the beauty of upstate New York, from the Finger Lakes to the Catskills, through the eyes of noted photographer Linda Solan. Scenes of fall foliage, historical Seneca Falls, home of the birthplace of Women’s Rights, the setting for Frank Capra’s "It’s A Wonderful Life" and home to such landmarks as the Trinity Episcopal Church and the statue "When Anthony Met Stanton".
Seneca Falls was also know for it's industry that was located on the islands on the Seneca River. Seneca Falls was the "Pump Capitol of North and South America" for over 100 years as well as the "Fire Engine Capitol of the World" for a few years. We were the home of Rumsey, Downs, Cowing, and still are the home of Goulds Pumps. The islands and inland manufacturers, in addition to pumps, also made sad (flat) irons, kitchen equipment, sox and blankets, buttons, globes, lathes, carded yarn and our NEW exhibit Westcott Rulers... everything you would need to exist in a small community. Linda has also captured many of New York’s old barns and rural scenes across New York. Have you ever been out driving and suddenly your car takes a turn down a road where you have never been before? It almost takes control of your car and control of your senses.... the mystique of an old barn, sunlight fading on the steeple of a church, the crackle of the leaves under your feet as you hike to the falls, or the pounding of your heart while walking through a 19th century graveyard ~ that is the heart and soul of a photographer. Come take a visual ride with me... through my camera’s eye.. Off The Beaten Path... In addition to LindaSolanPhotography.com, This NEW site will enable me to be a little more interactive with my work, by being able to list new work daily. Also many clients ask to see other similar photographs and I can list them immediately. All work on www.pbase.com/LindaSolan is for sale and the photographer may be reached easily at lindasolan@verizon.net
